I’m curious about people—what drives them, what they’re feeling, and what’s really happening behind a smile or a frown. I love being right in the middle of things when I’m shooting: backstage or on-stage, mid-conversation or mid-laugh, not just sitting back in the audience. I’m drawn to nature from unexpected angles too, the viewpoints you might miss at first glance.

With my camera, I try to pull people closer to the action—whether that’s revealing real personality in a portrait, catching an unguarded moment in the city, showing off the drama of a landscape, bottling the energy of a dance performance, or just catching a ridiculous moment with my kids and our pets. My hope is that those images nudge people to notice a bit more of the wonder that’s already around them.

When I’m not making photos, you’ll probably find me biking upstate in New York, skiing out West, “skateboardwalking” my dog along the Hudson, trying to keep up with 90s rock on the drums, or happily geeking out over cameras, lenses, filters, and all things photo-editing.
